BEAUTIFYING DODGE PARK

Members of Nationwide Energy Partners’ Energize Columbus organization rolled up their sleeves to beautify the Sullivant Avenue gateway to Dodge Park and Recreation Center on Wednesday, July 20.

Twelve NEP employees spent the morning helping Keep Columbus Beautiful enhance Sullivant Avenue and maintain the gateway into Franklinton beginning at the overpass and going west. Volunteers cleared overgrowth, pulled weeds, raked dried grass, collected trash and laid new mulch in the landscaping on both sides of the street.

In addition to their Adopt-an-Area program, NEP partners with Keep Columbus Beautiful for hands-on beautification projects to promote cleaner, more livable neighborhoods in the Columbus area. Keep Columbus Beautiful strategically targets areas in need and issues of environmental concern. The organization supplies volunteers with trash bags, gloves, tools, etc., to assist efforts.

Started in 2013, Energize Columbus provides NEP employees with opportunities to give back to the Columbus community through volunteer programs, its partner schools, fundraising and other charitable contributions. The focus of Energize Columbus’ 2016 philanthropic efforts is green initiatives.
