Nationwide Energy Partners joins Keep Columbus Beautiful in the Adopt-an-Area cleanup Initiative

Adopt-An-Area-Cleanup2017

On Thursday, May 25th, members of Nationwide Energy Partners’ Energize Columbus organization participated in their second Keep Columbus Beautiful Adopt-an-Area cleanup. The group spent their morning picking up litter along a 150-yard stretch of South Nelson Road in the historic Driving Park/Hanford Village area off of East Livingston Avenue.

Keep Columbus Beautiful facilitates the Adopt-an-Area program for the City of Columbus to create cleaner, more livable neighborhoods. They rely on volunteers to effect change by adopting areas in need of attention. Each year, more than 8,500 volunteers donate over 25,000 hours of their time for cleanups and beautification projects. Groups, businesses, churches, schools, families or individuals may adopt an area. Those that adopt an area are responsible for clearing the area of trash and litter at least twice a year, over a two-year timeframe. Keep Columbus Beautiful supplies groups with trash bags, gloves and other tools on loan to assist efforts at no cost to volunteers.

Energize Columbus began in 2014 to provide NEP employees with opportunities to give back to the Columbus community through volunteer programs, its partner schools, fundraising and other charitable contributions. The focus of Energize Columbus’ 2017 philanthropic efforts is green initiatives.
